Grants are not available if you live in Council or Housing Association accommodation.   • FREE Grants for Energy? This sounds too good to be true...?
    The government’s Energy Companies Obligation (ECO) scheme, launched in 2013, was set up to ensure that bigger energy suppliers help struggling families, help reduce carbon emissions and tackle fuel poverty. It's available in England, Scotland and Wales and obliges energy companies to install energy-saving measures in homes where it's needed the most.   • What areas do you cover?

  • What are heating grants?
    Grants mean you do not have to pay for the heating or energy efficiency measures installed. There is nothing to pay, as this is a government backed grant. These are given as part of the government energy efficiency scheme, designed to tackle fuel poverty and reduce carbon emissions across the United Kingdom. Under Energy Company Obligation (ECO) medium and large energy suppliers have targets to meet (ECO stands for “Energy Company Obligation”) and they fund the installation of energy efficient systems in British households.
  • What if I don’t qualify?
    An exception can be made by means of what is known as “LA Flex” (Local Authority Flexible Eligibility) and we can liaise with your local authority to determine whether you are eligible under this scheme.
  • How can I save money on heating?

  • Do I have to fill in a form on each service I’m interested in?

  • Why should I insulate my loft?
    25% of heat is lost through the roof. Just 10cm of loft insulation can make an enormous difference and help reduce heat loss by up to 75%.
  • Why is ventilation important?
    However adequate ventilation is essential to improving energy efficiency as well as preventing condensation and mould growth.
  • Can I benefit from ECO funding?
    In order to benefit from ECO you must own your own home or have the permission of your landlord.   • Am I eligible for ECO?
    ECO eligibility is assessed using a combination of householder criteria and house makeup. Customer of the Warm Home discount, in receipt of eligible benefits and satisfies the income requirement. You will be eligible for ECO if you are living at private domestic premises and are a member of the Help to Heat Group (HTHG). A person living at private domestic premises is an eligible member of the HTHG if the person is a core group customer under the Warm Home Discount scheme, or receives at least one of the following benefits and satisfies the relevant income requirements, where applicable: · Armed Forces Independence Payment · Attendance Allowance · Carer's Allowance · Child Benefit · Constant Attendance Allowance · Disability Living Allowance · Pension Guarantee Credit · Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) · Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance (JSA) · Income Support · Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit · Personal Independence Payment · Severe Disablement Allowance · Tax Credits (Child Tax Credits and Working Tax Credits) · Universal Credit (UC) · War Pensions Mobility Supplement.
  • Can ECO measures be co-funded with the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) and the Green Homes Grant (GHG) scheme?
    ECO and RHI funding cannot be combined for any measures except ground source heat pumps. This will mean that all other qualifying renewable heating measures can only receive support under one of the schemes. The Green Homes Grant (GHG) Voucher Scheme was a government grant in England to assist homeowners with energy-efficient and low-carbon heating home improvements. The scheme closed on 31 March 2021.
  • What is in-fill?
    Certain households that do not meet the criteria for fuel poverty or vulnerability to cold but that are in the same terrace as, immediately adjacent to, or in the same building as households that do meet those criteria, may also be eligible for solid wall insulation through this route. Measures delivered to these premises are known as “in-fill”. You may be eligible for ECO under the two in-fill mechanisms that are established by the scheme. These are the local authority flexible eligibility (LA Flex) in-fill mechanism and the Affordable Warmth (AW) in-fill mechanism.
